Acquisition is sixth in last year; fuels Intrix’ strategic growth initiatives
Westminster, CO, April 8, 2014 — Intrix Technology, Inc. (Intrix), a leading provider of payment processing technologies, today announced it has acquired the merchant portfolio of Witt Merchant Services of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The acquisition of the Witt portfolio is the sixth in a series of acquisitions Intrix Technology has completed over the last year. This growth is an integral part of Intrix’ strategy to enhance its footprint around the country as a trusted, innovative and dynamic merchant services provider.
Co-founded by James and Barbara Witt in 1999, Witt Merchant Services is an independent sales organization recognized as providing high-quality payment processing services for small to mid-sized merchants in New Mexico and various places around the country. The company offers an array of payment solutions including credit card and check-processing services, gift cards and stored value cards. Witt Merchant Services will become a fully integrated part of Intrix.
“Witt exemplifies what we look for in an acquisition. They’ve invested in technology, they’re committed to world-class customer service and they have developed very strong, long-standing customer relationships. All of these things and more align perfectly with our aspirations,” said Jeffrey Connors, president and CEO of Intrix Technology. “Intrix’ investments in technology, innovation and customer service will continue to deliver on Witt Merchant Services tradition of service excellence for its merchant customers.”
“We were fortunate to have a number of viable strategic alternatives for our business, but it was clear that Intrix represents the future of our industry and is the best possible fit for Witt’s customers,” said James Witt, president of Witt Merchant Services. “We’re very excited about this partnership. With the Intrix team, our merchants will not only continue to receive the level of quality and service they have come to expect from us, but will also have access to added services and products and the latest technological changes in the payment processing industry.”
During the transition period, Witt Merchant Services will work with Intrix to ensure a seamless transition and that there are absolutely no service disruptions. “We are still here and all of our clients can reach out to us directly with any questions or issues if the need arises,” added Witt.
Witt Merchant Services customers will benefit from Intrix’ expanded merchant service offerings as well as its secure, PCI certified payments platform, which will enable them to integrate payments with their accounting systems; improve cash flow management and forecasting; and reduce both fraud exposure and costs associated with PCI compliance costs.
The Intrix payment gateway allows customers to integrate payment and billing solutions with accounting applications and enterprise level software for a more streamlined payment process. Other payment processing products from Intrix include electronic bill presentment and payment, recurring billing applications, ACH processing and full tokenization services that reduce merchants’ PCI compliance costs.
In addition to serving merchants, Intrix provides agents with enhanced sales, marketing and processing functions to build their acquiring portfolio.
